Datone Jones Autographs
Datone Jones was born on July 24, 1990, in Compton, California. He attended Compton High School where he played both football and basketball. Jones emerged as a standout football player and earned a scholarship to play at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). During his college career, he started in 47 games, recorded 45 tackles for loss, and became one of the top defensive prospects in the 2013 NFL Draft.
In the 2013 NFL Draft, the Green Bay Packers selected Datone Jones with the 26th overall pick. He signed a four-year deal with the team and played five seasons in Green Bay before joining the Dallas Cowboys in 2018. In his rookie season with the Packers, Jones played in all 16 games and registered three sacks, three passes defended, and seven quarterback hits. Though he struggled with consistency and injuries, Jones proved his value as a versatile defensive lineman, recording nine sacks, two forced fumbles, and 131 tackles in his Packers' career.
Jones signed with the Dallas Cowboys in 2018 and played in all 16 games, recording 22 tackles, one sack, and two passes defended. He re-signed with the team in 2019 but was eventually released in the middle of the season. Afterwards, Jones signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars for the remainder of the 2019 season. While his football career has not been perfect, Jones has proven to be a valuable and versatile defensive lineman who is capable of making plays and disrupting the offense.
