Dave Butz was a renowned American football player who played as a defensive tackle for the National Football League (NFL). Born on December 23, 1950, in Lafayette, Indiana, Butz attended Purdue University, where he played for the Purdue Boilermakers football team. Dave Butz was selected by the St. Louis Cardinals, now known as the Arizona Cardinals, as the fifth overall pick in the first round of the 1973 NFL Draft.
