Dave Duerson was born on November 28th, 1960, in Muncie, Indiana. He excelled as a student athlete in high school, earning a football scholarship to the University of Notre Dame. While at Notre Dame, Duerson played safety and helped lead the Fighting Irish to a national championship in 1978. Duerson played seven seasons with the Chicago Bears from 1983 to 1989. He was an instrumental part of the team's success, helping them win Super Bowl XX in 1986 with his strong play at safety. He was named to the Pro Bowl in four consecutive seasons from 1985 to 1988 and was named an All-Pro in 1986 and 1987. Duerson's hard-hitting style and aggressive play on the field made him a fan favorite and a feared opponent.
