Dave Parks was an American football wide receiver and a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Born in 1941 in Muenster, Texas, Parks was a standout athlete in high school, excelling in football, basketball, and track. He attended Texas Tech University, where he became an All-American wide receiver and established himself as one of the most dominant players in college football.
In 1964, Parks was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers as the overall number one draft pick. He quickly established himself as one of the most dominant wide receivers in the NFL, earning three Pro Bowl selections and being named to the All-Pro team twice. In his nine-year NFL career, Parks amassed 360 receptions for 5,619 yards and 44 touchdowns. In addition to his success on the field, Parks was known for his work ethic and dedication to his team.
After retiring from football, Parks remained involved in the sport by working as a coach and broadcaster. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1979, recognizing his talent and impact on the game of football.
