David Tyree is a former American football player who played as a wide receiver for the New York Giants. He was born on January 3, 1980, in Livingston, New Jersey, and graduated from Montclair Kimberley Academy. Tyree began his football career during his high school days, where he played for Montclair Kimberley Academy's football team. He then went on to play college football at Syracuse University, where he was part of the Orange football team from 1999 to 2002. More about David Tyree

After the Super Bowl win, Tyree played just one more season with the Giants before being released in 2009. He then spent time with the Baltimore Ravens before retiring from professional football in 2010. Tyree's "Helmet Catch" will always be remembered as one of the greatest moments in NFL history, and he will forever be a part of Giants' folklore.
