Devin Thomas is a former American football wide receiver who played college football at Michigan State University. He was born on November 15, 1986, in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and started playing football at a young age. Thomas was a standout player in high school and received many scholarship offers before deciding to attend Michigan State.
Thomas had a successful college career at Michigan State, where he played from 2006 to 2007. In his sophomore year, he had 79 receptions for 1,260 yards and eight touchdowns, earning him first-team All-Big Ten honors. Thomas decided to forgo his senior year and entered the 2008 NFL Draft, where he was selected in the second round by the Washington Redskins.
Thomas played in the NFL for five years, playing for the Redskins, the Carolina Panthers, and the New York Giants. While he showed promise as a rookie, with 15 receptions for 120 yards and a touchdown, his subsequent seasons were plagued by injuries and inconsistency. In 2012, he announced his retirement from football at the age of 26. Despite his shortened career, Devin Thomas remains fondly remembered by Michigan State fans and is considered one of the best receivers in the team's history.
