Kazmaier was the quarterback for the Princeton Tigers from 1949 to 1951. He was known for his versatility and athleticism, as well as his passing and running capabilities. In his final year, he led the Tigers to an undefeated season and a national championship while winning the Heisman Trophy, the most prestigious award in college football. He set numerous records that year, including total offense, which was later broken by Hawaii’s Colt Brennan in 2006. Kazmaier was also a three-time All-American and was elected to the College Football Hall of Fame in 1966.

After college, Kazmaier was drafted by the Chicago Bears in the 1952 NFL draft but chose to pursue a career in business instead. He became an executive in the paper industry and later served on the board of several companies. Kazmaier continued to make an impact on the game of football, serving on the NCAA Rules Committee and as a trustee for the Football Foundation and Hall of Fame. He passed away on August 1, 2013, at the age of 82, but his legacy as a football icon lives on. Read even more about Dick Kazmaier at Wikipedia
