In 2001, he was drafted by the Detroit Lions in the second round, serving as the team's starting center for over a decade.
During his stint with the Lions, Raiola proved to be a pillar of consistency and durability, starting every game from 2002 to 2013. He was known for his toughness, intelligence, and work ethic, earning him the respect of his peers and fans alike. Statistically, Raiola played in 219 games, making him one of the most active centers in NFL history. Additionally, he was twice named a team captain and went to the Pro Bowl in 2010.
