Don Chandler Autographs
Don Chandler was a prominent figure in American football during the 1950s and 1960s. Born on September 5, 1934, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, Chandler played college football at the University of Florida, where he was a starting halfback and kicker. He was drafted by the New York Giants in the fifth round of the 1956 NFL Draft and played as both kicker and punter. Chandler won four championship titles during his time with the Giants, and was instrumental in the team's success. He played for New York for eight seasons before being traded to the Green Bay Packers in 1965.
At Green Bay, Chandler continued to excel as a kicker and punter, and was a key contributor to the team's victories in Super Bowl I and II. He kicked four field goals and three extra points in the two Super Bowls and remained the only player to have played in both championships for many years. Chandler is widely regarded as one of the most accomplished kickers in NFL history, and his achievements during his career paved the way for the success of future kickers.
After retiring from football in 1968, Chandler remained involved in the sport as a coach, working with both the Packers and the Detroit Lions. He was inducted into the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame in 1975, and was also named to the NFL's 1960s All-Decade Team. He passed away in August 2011 at the age of 76, leaving behind a legacy as one of the greatest kickers in American football history.
