Don Griffin Autographs
Don Griffin was an American football cornerback who played in the National Football League for nine seasons. He was born on March 1, 1964, in Greensboro, North Carolina, and went to school at the University of Middle Tennessee State. Griffin had an impressive college career where he was ranked the best cornerback in the Ohio Valley Conference in 1985. His outstanding performance caught the attention of scouts, and he was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in the sixth round of the 1986 NFL Draft.
Griffin had a remarkable professional career from 1986 to 1994, where he played for the 49ers and the Cleveland Browns. Throughout his NFL career, he was known for his speed, agility, and ball skills. He was an excellent cover corner who could shut down the best receivers in the game. In his rookie season, Griffin played on special teams and recorded seven tackles. He quickly earned a starting spot in 1987 and cemented his reputation as a lockdown cornerback by intercepting four passes and deflecting 18. He had his best season in 1991 when he recorded six interceptions and two touchdowns.
Unfortunately, Griffin's NFL career ended prematurely due to injuries. After being released by the Browns in 1994, he joined the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League but retired after just one season. Despite his short career, Griffin's contributions to the game of football will not be forgotten. He finished his NFL career with 23 interceptions and six touchdown returns, and he was named to the NFL All-Rookie Team in 1986. Don Griffin will always be remembered as one of the best cornerbacks to play the game of football.
