Don Perkins Autographs
Don Perkins is a former American football fullback who shone brightly during his tenure as a professional footballer in the National Football League (NFL). He was born on March 4th, 1938, in Waterloo, Iowa, and attended the University of New Mexico, where he played college football for four years before graduating in 1960. Perkins' football prowess caught the attention of the Dallas Cowboys, who selected him in the 1961 NFL draft.
After joining the Dallas Cowboys, Perkins' career as a professional footballer took off, and he quickly became an integral part of the team’s success. He spent his entire NFL career with the Cowboys from 1961 to 1968, playing in 108 games and rushing for 6,217 yards while scoring 42 touchdowns. Perkins led the Cowboys in rushing for six consecutive seasons, earned five Pro Bowl selections, and was named an All-Pro three times. In 1976, he was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame and was later honored by the Dallas Cowboys Ring of Honor in 1976 and the team’s top 50 players in 2010.
Perkins’ contributions to American football and his impressive stats during his career earned him a reputation as one of the most talented fullbacks in NFL history. Following his retirement from the game, Perkins went on to work as a sports commentator and an administrative official for the Southwest Conference. He passed away on August 4th, 2021, at the age of 83.
