Don Trull Autographs
Don Trull was an American football player who made a name for himself as a quarterback during the 1960s. He was born in San Antonio, Texas, in 1941 and attended the University of Baylor where he played football for the Bears. Trull had an impressive collegiate career where he set several records and earned a reputation for his accuracy and composure on the field. In 1963, he was selected in the ninth round of the NFL Draft by the Houston Oilers, and that was the beginning of a professional career that would span over six years.
In his first few seasons with the Oilers, Trull played backup to George Blanda, who was the starting quarterback at the time. However, it wasn't long before Trull started making a name for himself. In 1966, Blanda was traded to the Oakland Raiders, and Trull took over as the starting quarterback for the Oilers. That season, he threw for over 3,000 yards and 22 touchdowns and led the Oilers to a 3rd-place finish in the AFL's Eastern Division. The following year, Trull's performance earned him a spot in the AFL All-Star game.
Trull retired from football after the 1969 season due to a shoulder injury. However, he left his mark on the game and is remembered as one of the best quarterbacks of his time. He finished his career with 11,345 passing yards and 63 touchdowns, and his impact on the sport extended beyond his playing days. After his retirement, Trull became a football coach and spent several years in the profession, imparting his knowledge and skills to young players. He was inducted into the Baylor Sports Hall of Fame in 1986, and his legacy continues to inspire new generations of football players.
