Dri Archer Autographs
Dri Archer was born on August 9, 1991, in Laurel, Mississippi. He played football at Venice High School in Florida, where he recorded 1,460 rushing yards and 16 touchdowns as a senior in 2008. Despite his tremendous performance, he was not highly recruited, and he decided to attend Kent State University on a football scholarship.
In college, Archer was a two-way player, alternating between running back and slot receiver. However, he truly made a name for himself as a return specialist. He was a two-time All-American as a kick returner and broke the NCAA record for average yards per kick return in a single season with 38.2 in 2012. As a running back, his most impressive season came in 2012, where he rushed for 1,429 yards and 16 touchdowns. His combination of speed and agility made him a difficult player to tackle, and he became one of the most exciting players in college football.
In the 2014 NFL Draft, Archer was selected by the Pittsburgh Steelers with the 97th overall pick. He struggled to find a consistent spot in the Steelers' offense, and he was used primarily as a kick returner during his two-year stint with the team. After being released by the Steelers in 2016, Archer played briefly in the Canadian Football League and the Alliance of American Football. Although his professional football career was brief, Archer's electrifying speed and athleticism have earned him a place in college football history, and he continues to inspire young football players to this day.
