Duane Thomas Autographs
Duane Thomas was a former American football player who played as a running back for various teams in the NFL, including the Dallas Cowboys, San Diego Chargers, Washington Redskins, and Houston Oilers. Thomas is best known for his role in the Dallas Cowboys' victory in Super Bowl VI in 1972, where he rushed for 95 yards and scored a touchdown. He was also named the Most Valuable Player of the game, which helped cement his legacy as one of the most talented running backs of his generation.
Thomas was born in Dallas, Texas, in 1947, and he spent most of his childhood living in poverty. Despite these challenges, he managed to excel in sports and football during his high school years. He later attended West Texas State University, where he continued to hone his skills as a running back, helping the team win the Lone Star Conference championship in 1968. Later that year, Thomas was selected by the Dallas Cowboys as their first-round pick in the NFL draft.
Sadly, Thomas was plagued by numerous issues throughout his NFL career. In addition to his frequent disputes with coaches and management, Thomas struggled with injuries and personal problems that hampered his performance on the field. Nevertheless, he went on to have an impressive career, rushing for over 4,400 yards and scoring 33 touchdowns over the course of his seven seasons in the NFL. Despite the ups and downs of his career, Duane Thomas will always be remembered as one of the most talented and unforgettable players of his era.
