Dub Jones Autographs
Dub Jones was a skilled American football player born on December 29th, 1924, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. After his high school graduation, he went on to play football at Tulane University. In 1946, he was drafted in the tenth round by the Chicago Cardinals, and that's when his professional football career took off.
Jones played both offense and defense during his 12-year career in the NFL, which spanned from 1946 to 1957. He spent most of his career playing for the Cleveland Browns, where he established himself as a multi-talented player. Jones was known for his versatility and ability to play several positions. He was used as a halfback, fullback, and flanker, and he played on both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball. Throughout his career, he earned three Pro Bowl selections and was an instrumental part of the Browns' four championship teams in the All-America Football Conference.
Jones was one of the most versatile players in the history of American football. He retired in 1957 as the NFL's all-time leader in kickoff return yards with 4,983 yards, and he remains second in league history in that category 64 years later. Jones was inducted into the New Orleans Sports Hall of Fame in 1983, and he passed away in 2018 at the age of 93. Dub Jones' legacy lives on as one of the most versatile and successful football players of his time.
