Earl Faison Autographs
Earl Faison was an accomplished American football player born in Newport News, Virginia USA, on June 13, 1939. He was one of the best defensive ends ever to grace the field, leaving lasting impressions with his agility, strength, and speed. He first made headlines in football in high school, where he played for Huntington High School. He was a three-letter athlete in football, basketball, and track and was eventually recruited to play for Indiana University.
Faison's football career began at Indiana University, where he became one of the team's most dominant players. He earned his team's MVP award in 1960 and was named First-Team All-American in 1960 and 1961. He eventually led the team to a Big Ten Conference championship in 1961, and the San Diego Chargers selected him with the first pick in the 1961 AFL Draft. Faison eventually signed with the Chargers and played for six seasons, becoming a key member of the Chargers' famous defensive line of the early 1960s.
Faison's most successful season in football was in 1963. He was named First-Team All-AFL for his contributions to the Chargers defense, which allowed the fewest points in the league. He went on to help lead the San Diego Chargers to the AFL Championship in 1963, solidifying his reputation as a skilled player in one of the most celebrated teams in AFL history. After six seasons with the Chargers, he was traded to the Miami Dolphins, where he retired after playing a single season. Earl Faison was inducted into the Indiana University, San Diego Chargers, and Virginia Sports Hall of Fame, acknowledging his legacy as one of American football's brightest stars.
