Ed Meador is a former professional American football player who was born on September 12, 1937, in Dallas, Texas. He focused on American football during his education and played at North Texas State University as a defensive end. In 1959, he was drafted by the Los Angeles Rams in the seventh overall pick of the second round. Later, he played as a defensive end with the Rams for 12 years, from 1959 to 1970. After retiring from playing football, Ed Meador continued to work in the sport. He served as a scout and defensive assistant coach for the Rams for a few years. Later, he moved to Arizona and became the head coach for three different high school football teams; he retired from coaching in 1992. Meador's ability and dedication as a player led his induction into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1999 and the Texas Sports Hall of Fame in 2014, making him one of the most influential players in American football history.
