Ed White was a professional American football player, born on February 4, 1947, in Compton, California. The offensive guard played in the National Football League (NFL) for 17 seasons, mostly for the Minnesota Vikings and the San Diego Chargers. White started his football career at California State University, Long Beach, where he played for the Long Beach State 49ers. He was later drafted in the second round of the 1969 NFL draft by the Minnesota Vikings. In his first season with the team, White played in all 14 games and helped the Vikings reach the playoffs.
