Elbert Dubenion Autographs
Elbert Dubenion was a renowned American football player who was born on February 16, 1933, in Griffin, Georgia. He attended Blakely High School in Georgia, where he displayed exceptional athletic abilities. However, due to the segregation laws of the time, he was unable to join the integrated Georgia Bulldogs football team. This made him transfer to Bluffton College in Ohio, where he played as a running back for the Beavers.
In 1960, Elbert Dubenion's career took off when he was recruited to play for the Buffalo Bills in the American Football League (AFL). He spent most of his professional career with the Bills, serving as a wide receiver for nine seasons. Dubenion was known for his speed, incredible catches, and game-winning touchdowns. His performance was essential to the Bills' success during the AFL years, and he was a major contributor to the team's two consecutive league titles in 1965 and 1966.
Throughout his career, Dubenion was a fan favorite and a respected member of the NFL community. His contributions to the sport earned him a place in the Buffalo Bills' Wall of Fame, and he was inducted into the Greater Buffalo Sports Hall of Fame in 1998. After retiring from football in 1969, Dubenion served as a coach and motivational speaker. In 1994, he lost his battle with Alzheimer's disease, leaving behind a legacy as one of the greatest wide receivers of his time.
