Eric Allen is a former American football player who played in the National Football League from 1988 to 2001. He was born on November 22, 1965, in San Diego, California, and attended James Madison High School where he played high school football. Afterward, he went on to play college football at Arizona State University, where he earned All-American honors. Allen was drafted in the second round of the 1988 NFL Draft by the Philadelphia Eagles.
During his 14-year career in the NFL, Eric Allen played for the Philadelphia Eagles, New Orleans Saints, and the Oakland Raiders. Known for his speed and agility on the field, he was a six-time Pro-Bowler and a four-time All-Pro selection. Throughout his career, Allen had 54 interceptions for 827 yards, nine touchdowns, and a long of 94 yards. He was also known for his exceptional skills as a punt returner - in his rookie year alone, he returned three punts for touchdowns.
After retiring from professional football in 2002, Allen entered into sports broadcasting. He worked as an analyst for ESPN and then joined NFL Network as an analyst in 2012. Eric Allen's legacy on the football field is a testament to his exceptional skills and dedication to his career. His career highlights remain among the greatest in NFL history, and he is widely regarded as one of the best cornerbacks to have ever played the game.
