Eric Ebron is an American football tight end currently playing for the Pittsburgh Steelers of the National Football League (NFL). He was drafted in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft by the Detroit Lions, where he played his first four seasons. During his time in Detroit, Ebron set a franchise record for most receiving touchdowns by a tight end in a single season, earning him a spot on the 2018 Pro Bowl team. After becoming a free agent in 2018, Ebron signed with the Indianapolis Colts where he played for two seasons before moving to Pittsburgh in 2020.
Born on April 10, 1993, in Newark, New Jersey, Ebron attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he played college football. During his time with the Tar Heels, Ebron was a standout player, earning All-ACC honors in 2013. His impressive performances on the field caught the attention of NFL scouts, leading to his selection by the Lions as the 10th overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft. Since then, Ebron has become known for his outstanding athleticism, speed, and ability to make tough catches.
