Eric Metcalf Autographs
Eric Metcalf is a former American football player who played in the National Football League (NFL) for 13 seasons. He was born on January 23, 1968, in Seattle, Washington. He attended the University of Texas where he played college football for the Texas Longhorns. He was a versatile player who played as a running back, wide receiver, and kick returner.
Metcalf was selected by the Cleveland Browns in the first round of the 1989 NFL Draft. He played for the Browns for five seasons, where he made a name for himself as a return specialist. He holds the NFL record for the most punt return touchdowns in a career with 10. He also holds the Browns franchise record for the most all-purpose yards in a season with 2,392 yards. In 1993, he was named to the Pro Bowl and was named a first-team All-Pro.
After his stint with the Browns, Metcalf played for other teams, including the Atlanta Falcons, San Diego Chargers, Arizona Cardinals, Carolina Panthers, and Green Bay Packers. He retired from the NFL in 2002 after playing in 190 games and accumulating 17,230 all-purpose yards. Metcalf was a dynamic player who brought excitement to the game with his speed and elusiveness. His legacy as one of the greatest return specialists in NFL history is secure.
