Eric Turner Autographs
Eric Turner was born on November 12, 1968, in Ventura, California. He was an American football safety who played for nine seasons in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where he earned All-American honors in 1990.
Turner was selected by the Cleveland Browns with the second overall pick in the 1991 NFL Draft. He played for the Browns for four seasons, earning Pro Bowl honors in 1994. In 1995, he signed with the Baltimore Ravens, where he played for three seasons. He retired after the 1999 season with a career total of 30 interceptions and nine forced fumbles.
Turner's NFL career was impressive, but he was also known for his involvement in charitable organizations off the field. He founded the Eric Turner Foundation, which focused on providing educational opportunities to underprivileged children. Turner’s life was tragically cut short when he died in 2000 of abdominal cancer at the age of 31. The NFL renamed their Man of the Year Award to the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award in honor of Turner's contributions to his community after his death.
