Ernie Ladd Autographs
Ernie Ladd was an American football player who is widely recognized for his outstanding achievements and contributions to the sport. Born in Rayville, Louisiana in 1938, Ladd was a high school standout on the football field and received a scholarship to attend Grambling State University. After playing for the university for four years, Ladd was drafted in the fourth round of the 1961 NFL draft by the San Diego Chargers.
Throughout his professional career, Ladd played for several NFL teams, including the Houston Oilers, Kansas City Chiefs, and the San Diego Chargers. He was known for his size, strength, and agility on the field and was considered one of the most dominant defensive linemen of his time. Ladd's incredible athleticism was demonstrated during a 1962 game against the New York Titans in which he blocked an extra point and scored a touchdown on the same play.
After retiring from football, Ladd became a professional wrestler and continued to make a name for himself in the entertainment world. Despite his success in wrestling, Ladd's impact on the sport of football cannot be overstated. As a pioneer for African American athletes in the NFL, Ladd paved the way for future generations of players to follow in his footsteps. Today, he is remembered as a legend in both football and wrestling and is recognized for his contributions to both sports.
