Eryk Anders is a former American football player turned mixed martial artist. Born on April 11, 1987, in Birmingham, Alabama, he started his athletic career in college, where he played as a linebacker for the Alabama Crimson Tide. During his college career, he helped lead his team to two SEC championships (2009 and 2012) and earned several accolades, including a first-team All-SEC selection.
After college, Anders was signed as an undrafted free agent by the then-Cleveland Browns in 2010. He spent the pre-season with the team but was eventually released. He then played in the Canadian Football League (CFL) for a short stint before becoming a high school coach. In 2012, he decided to pursue a career in mixed martial arts, and in 2015, he made his professional debut.
