Everson Walls was born on December 28, 1959, in Dallas, Texas. He started his football career in high school where he played as a cornerback for Lloyd V. Berkner High School. Walls was an outstanding performer, and this earned him a scholarship to the University of Grambling State in Louisiana. He became part of the Grambling State Tigers football team, where he continued to show his prowess and helped the team to win two Black College National Championships in 1977 and 1980. Walls's professional career in American football began when he joined the Dallas Cowboys in 1981. He was part of the team for nine seasons, playing as a cornerback. During his time at Cowboys, he led the team to three Super Bowl games, although the team only won one of the games in 1992. Walls also led the NFL in interceptions twice in 1981 and 1985, and tied for the lead in 1982. He had a total of 57 interceptions, ranking number 13 all-time in the NFL history. Walls retired from the NFL in 1993, having played for other teams such as the New York Giants and Cleveland Browns.

Even after Walls retired, he has not faded away from the football scene. He has become actively involved in coaching youth football and encouraging high school students to participate in athletics. Walls has also served as a commentator for various sports networks, including NBC and CBS. His role as an advocate for healthy living and promoting youth football has made him a respected figure in American football.
