Ezekiel Ansah Autographs
Ezekiel Ansah, popularly known as "Ziggy," is a Ghanaian-American footballer who played as a defensive end for various National Football League (NFL) teams since 2013. Ansah was born on May 29, 1989, in Accra, Ghana, and later moved to the United States in 2008 to attend Brigham Young University (BYU) in Utah, where he played college football. Despite not having any high school American football experience, Ansah's raw athleticism caught the attention of BYU's coaching staff, who recruited him as a walk-on player.
Ansah's performance at BYU was impressive, and he quickly established himself as one of the best pass rushers in the nation. He earned the nickname "Ziggy" from his teammates, who were amazed at how he excelled in the sport without prior experience. Ansah recorded 4.5 sacks and 62 tackles in his senior year at BYU, and the Detroit Lions selected him with their fifth overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft.
Due to his raw talent, Ansah quickly made an impact in the NFL, earning multiple All-Rookie honors in his debut season. Over the next few years, Ansah established himself as a premier pass rusher in the league. Despite being plagued by injuries, Ansah recorded 48 sacks and 110 tackles in his seven-year NFL career with the Lions, Seattle Seahawks, and San Francisco 49ers. Ansah is considered one of the best Ghanaian football players of all time and an inspiration to young African athletes interested in American football.
