Frank Pitts Autographs
Frank Pitts was a former American football player who played as a wide receiver. He was born on December 12, 1943, in Long Beach, California, and attended Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, where he played for the Mustangs. Pitts was drafted in the fourth round of the 1965 NFL Draft by the Green Bay Packers, where he played for three seasons before moving to the Kansas City Chiefs.
During his time with the Chiefs, Pitts played an instrumental role in the team's success, winning a Super Bowl championship in Super Bowl IV. He was known for his quickness and ability to catch passes in traffic, finishing with 16 touchdowns and 3,023 receiving yards during his six seasons with the Chiefs. Pitts also holds the distinction of scoring the team's first touchdown in Super Bowl IV and the first touchdown in franchise history at Arrowhead Stadium.
After retiring from football, Pitts remained active in the NFL as a coach and scout. He served as a wide receiver coach for the Buffalo Bills and the Houston Oilers, and later worked as a scout for the Carolina Panthers and Seattle Seahawks. Pitts was inducted into the Chiefs Hall of Fame in 1978, and his contributions to the team remain an integral part of its rich history in the NFL.
