Gary Glick Autograph

Gary Glick was an American football player born on January 26, 1930, in Artesia, New Mexico. He played as a safety in the National Football League (NFL) and American Football League (AFL) for ten seasons, from 1955 to 1964. Glick started his football career at Colorado State University, where he played both offense and defense. In 1956, Glick joined the Pittsburgh Steelers, where he played for six seasons. He was a competent pass defender, intercepting 26 passes, including an NFL record of 12 interceptions in a single season in 1956. Glick's excellent performance in the 1956 season earned him the NFL's Rookie of the Year title. In 1962, he was traded to the Washington Redskins for his outstanding play as a free safety, and he played for two seasons before retiring in 1964.

Glick's career accolades include four All-Pro selections (1956-1959) and two Pro Bowl appearances. After retiring from football, Glick worked as a stockbroker for several years. Later, he founded an insurance company and a private investigation agency. Gary Glick passed away on January 22, 2020, at the age of 89, leaving a legacy as a talented football player who achieved great success during his career.
