Gary Pinkel Autographs

Gary Pinkel is a former American football coach who has left an indelible mark on the sport. Born in Akron, Ohio in 1952, Pinkel attended Kent State University where he played football as a tight end. After college, Pinkel started his coaching career, working as a graduate assistant at the University of Washington in 1976. He then moved on to smaller schools, including the University of Toledo, Central Michigan University, and the University of Washington, before being hired as head coach for the University of Missouri Tigers in 2001.
Pinkel's tenure at Missouri was marked by dynamism and excellence. At the time of his retirement in 2015, he was the winningest coach in the history of Missouri football, with 118 victories. He led the Tigers to ten bowl games in his 15 years as head coach, including two Cotton Bowl victories in 2008 and 2014. Pinkel's coaching style was known for its ferocity and attention to detail. He honed his recruits into razor-sharp athletes, ensuring that they were always well-prepared for any competition.
