George Kunz Autographs
George Kunz was an American football player who was born on October 5, 1947, in Chicago, Illinois. Kunz attended Notre Dame High School in Niles, Illinois, where he played football, basketball, and track. He attended the University of Notre Dame and played for the Fighting Irish football team from 1966 to 1968. While there, he was selected as a consensus All-American in both 1967 and 1968.
In 1969, George Kunz was drafted in the first round (second overall) by the Atlanta Falcons in the NFL Draft. Kunz played with the Falcons for six seasons before being traded to the Baltimore Colts in 1975. After two seasons with the Colts, he was traded to the Buffalo Bills, where he played his final NFL season in 1978. Throughout his NFL career, Kunz was known as a dominant offensive tackle, making the Pro Bowl four times and earning All-Pro honors twice.
After retiring from football, George Kunz became a business executive and served as president of Halcyon Jets, a private jet provider. He passed away on September 4, 2012, at the age of 64. George Kunz will always be remembered as one of the top offensive tackles in NFL history, having been inducted into the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame and the Atlanta Falcons Ring of Honor.
