Grady Alderman Autographs
Grady Alderman was born on October 10, 1938, in Detroit, Michigan. He was an American football player who played for the Detroit Lions and the Minnesota Vikings in the National Football League. Alderman was versatile in his positions, and during his career, he played as an offensive tackle, guard, and a long snapper. He was recognized as one of the strongest and most dependable linemen in the league and was inducted into the “Vikings Ring of Honor” in 2006.
Alderman played college football at the Detroit Mercy, where he was a two-way player for the Titans. In 1960, the Detroit Lions drafted him in the third round, and he played for the Lions for six seasons. Over the years, he established himself as one of the most reliable and toughest players in the league. In 1967, Alderman moved to Minnesota Vikings and played there for another nine seasons. During his time there, he helped the Vikings win three division championships and an NFC championship in 1974.
Grady Alderman retired from football in 1974 after 15 seasons in the NFL, and he became a member of the Vikings organization staff. He worked as a scout, assistant coach, and team administrator. Later on, he served as a Director of Player Personnel in the World League of American Football. Alderman passed away on September 8, 2020, at the age of 81, leaving behind a remarkable legacy in the NFL. Although his football career was long over, his contributions to the Vikings organization continue to inspire the team and its fans.
