Greg Landry Autographs
Greg Landry was born on December 18, 1946 in Nashua, New Hampshire. He started his football career during his high school days at Bishop Guertin High School, where he played as a quarterback. He was highly talented and this earned him a scholarship to attend the University of Massachusetts. At UMass, he had a magnificent career and he was eventually inducted in the UMass Athletic Hall of Fame. In 1968, he was drafted in the first round of the National Football League (NFL) draft by the Detroit Lions.
Landry started his professional football career with the Detroit Lions in 1968 and he played with the team for 11 seasons. He was known for his mobility and his ability to evade defenders, something that was quite unique for a quarterback at the time. During his time with the Lions, he formed an important part of the team’s offense and he threw 80 touchdown passes in his time with the team. In addition to this, he also ran for 2,878 yards and scored 22 touchdowns on the ground.
After his stint with Detroit Lions, Landry played for Baltimore Colts and the Chicago Bears before retiring in 1984. Since retiring, Landry has remained active in football by serving as a quarterbacks coach for numerous teams, including the Detroit Lions, the Atlanta Falcons, and the Cleveland Browns. He has also worked as a commentator for various radio shows and he is known for his in-depth understanding of football. Throughout his career, Landry has shown that he is not only a talented athlete but also a knowledgeable coach and analyst.
