Greg Mathews Autographs

Greg Mathews is a former Major League Baseball pitcher who was born on December 21, 1962, in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Mathews attended the University of South Carolina, where he played baseball for the Gamecocks. He was drafted in the first round by the St. Louis Cardinals in 1984 and made his Major League debut in 1986.
Mathews spent six seasons in the Major Leagues, playing for the St. Louis Cardinals, the Philadelphia Phillies, and the Kansas City Royals. He was known for his exceptional curveball, which helped him achieve a career record of 47-41 with a 3.91 ERA. In 1988, Mathews had a breakout season with the Cardinals, winning 12 games and pitching 198 innings with a 3.28 ERA. He finished third in the Rookie of the Year voting and was named to the National League All-Star team in 1989.
Mathews retired from baseball after the 1992 season due to injuries, but he remains an active member of the baseball community. He has worked as a pitching coach and has been involved with youth baseball organizations. Mathews also gives back to his community through charitable work, including the Greg Mathews Foundation, which raises money for organizations that support children and families in need. He is remembered as a skilled pitcher and a dedicated member of the baseball community.
