Greg Olson, born on September 6, 1960, is a retired American baseball player who played as a catcher in Major League Baseball (MLB). Olson attended the University of Kentucky, where he played college baseball and was named to the All-Southeastern Conference (SEC) team in 1981. Olson made his debut with the Pirates in 1989 and played for them until 1993, when he was traded to the Atlanta Braves. He played for the Braves for two seasons, and then went on to play for the Baltimore Orioles, the Kansas City Royals, and the Los Angeles Dodgers. Olson was known for his excellent defensive skills, and he won the Gold Glove Award in 1990 and 1991. He also had a good batting average, with a career average of .241 and 129 home runs. Overall, Olson played for 14 seasons in the MLB, playing in 1,051 games while hitting 129 home runs and 543 RBIs.

After retiring from baseball, Olson has been involved with coaching and training young baseball players. He has also been active in charity work, especially with the children's hospital in Birmingham, Alabama. His contributions to the sport have earned him recognition, and he was inducted into the Kentucky Athletics Hall of Fame in 2006. Greg Olson is an outstanding example of hard work, determination, and commitment to excellence, both on and off the field.
