Greg Zuerlein, also known as “Legatron,” is an American football placekicker who currently plays for the Dallas Cowboys in the National Football League (NFL). Zuerlein was born on December 27, 1987, in Lincoln, Nebraska, and his interest in football began when he was just eight years old. He attended the University of Nebraska at Omaha, where he played college football as a kicker and established himself as one of the top kickers in the history of the program.
After completing his college education, Zuerlein was chosen by the St. Louis Rams as their sixth-round pick in the 2012 NFL Draft. He quickly made an impact in his rookie season, scoring 20 of 22 field goals and setting the record for the longest field goal in Rams history, a 60-yard kick in a game against the Seattle Seahawks. Zuerlein continued to excel in his career, developing a reputation for his incredible leg strength and accuracy, and was voted as a first-team All-Pro in the 2017 season. He joined the Dallas Cowboys in 2020 and has continued his impressive form with the team.
Throughout his career, Greg Zuerlein has cemented his place as one of the NFL's top kickers with a long list of records and accolades. He holds the NFL record for most 50-yard field goals made in a single game, which he achieved in a game against the San Francisco 49ers in 2012. He is also one of the few players in NFL history to make a 60-yard field goal, which he has accomplished three times in his career. Zuerlein's contributions to his teams have earned him respect and admiration from fans and fellow players, and he continues to be a force to be reckoned with in the league.
