Harold Carmichael is a former American football wide receiver who played professionally in the National Football League (NFL) for 13 seasons. He was born in Jacksonville, Florida, on September 22, 1949, and attended Southern University, where he played college football for the Jaguars. Carmichael was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in the seventh round of the 1971 NFL Draft, and he made his debut the following season. Standing at 6 feet 8 inches tall, he was one of the tallest receivers in NFL history and used his height to his advantage, becoming one of the league's most dominant receivers during the 1970s. Carmichael's best season came in 1973 when he led the league in receptions (67), receiving yards (1,116), and touchdowns (9).
