Harold Carmichael is a former American football wide receiver who played professionally in the National Football League (NFL) for 13 seasons. He was born in Jacksonville, Florida, on September 22, 1949, and attended Southern University, where he played college football for the Jaguars. Carmichael was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in the seventh round of the 1971 NFL Draft, and he made his debut the following season. Standing at 6 feet 8 inches tall, he was one of the tallest receivers in NFL history and used his height to his advantage, becoming one of the league's most dominant receivers during the 1970s. Carmichael's best season came in 1973 when he led the league in receptions (67), receiving yards (1,116), and touchdowns (9). He helped lead the Eagles to the playoffs three times, including Super Bowl XV, before retiring in 1984.

Carmichael was inducted into the Philadelphia Eagles Hall of Fame in 1987 and the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2020, recognizing his contribution to the sport. Today, he works as a Community Ambassador for the Eagles, playing an important role in the team's charitable activities and helping to inspire the next generation of football players. Carmichael's legacy and impact on the NFL continue to be felt today, and he is widely considered to be one of the greatest wide receivers of his era.
