Born on January 6, 1946 in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, Jackson grew up playing football from an early age. Jackson played for 16 seasons in the NFL, from 1968 to 1984, playing for several teams such as the Los Angeles Rams, Philadelphia Eagles, New England Patriots, Minnesota Vikings, and Seattle Seahawks.
