Heath Shuler Autographs
Heath Shuler is a former American football quarterback who was born on December 31, 1971, in Bryson City, North Carolina. In high school, Shuler was a standout athlete, excelling in both football and baseball. He went on to attend the University of Tennessee, where he played football for three seasons. During his time at Tennessee, Shuler set numerous records and earned several awards, including SEC Player of the Year in 1993.
Shuler was drafted by the Washington Redskins in the first round of the 1994 NFL Draft, and he spent three seasons with the team. While he had some success in Washington, Shuler was ultimately traded to the New Orleans Saints in 1997. His time with the Saints was brief, and he was traded to the Oakland Raiders before the start of the 1998 season. However, Shuler's career came to an abrupt end when he suffered a severe foot injury in preseason. He attempted a comeback in 2002 with the Detroit Lions, but he was released before the start of the regular season.
Since retiring from football, Shuler has remained involved in sports and politics. He served in the United States House of Representatives for North Carolina's 11th congressional district from 2007 to 2013. Shuler also founded the Heath Shuler Real Estate Company and currently serves as the president and CEO. Despite his short NFL career, Shuler remains a beloved figure in the world of college football, and he was inducted into the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame in 2006.
