Jace Amaro Autographs
Jace Amaro was born on June 26, 1992 in San Antonio, Texas. At a young age, Amaro displayed a natural athleticism that would serve him well in his future football career. He attended MacArthur High School in San Antonio, where he was a standout athlete in football, basketball, and track and field. During his high school football career, he caught 52 passes for 696 yards and nine touchdowns.
After graduating from high school, Amaro went on to play college football at Texas Tech University. With the Red Raiders, Amaro made an immediate impact, catching 106 receptions for 1,352 yards and seven touchdowns in his sophomore season. He continued his success in his junior season, where he was named a consensus All-American and won the John Mackey Award, given to the top tight end in college football. Amaro ultimately finished his college career with 138 receptions for 1,818 yards and 13 touchdowns.
Amaro was selected by the New York Jets in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft. Despite a strong showing in his rookie season, where he caught 38 passes for 345 yards and two touchdowns, Amaro's NFL career never took off. He was limited by injuries and ultimately released by the Jets in 2016. Amaro went on to bounce around several teams, including the Tennessee Titans and Kansas City Chiefs, but never found the same success he had in college. Despite this, Amaro's college career still remains one of the most successful for a tight end in Texas Tech history.
