Jeff Backus Autographs
Jeff Backus is a former American football offensive tackle who played his entire 12-year professional career with the Detroit Lions of the National Football League (NFL). Born on September 21st, 1977, in Midland, Michigan, Backus attended the University of Michigan, where he was a standout player for the Wolverines' football team between 1996 and 2000. During his college career, Backus played in 48 games, starting 44 of them, and was named a first-team All-Big Ten selection in 1999 and 2000.
In 2001, Backus was selected in the first round of the NFL Draft by the Detroit Lions, where he would go on to play for his entire professional career. With his solid build and quick footwork, Backus proved to be a great asset to the team throughout his time with them. Between 2001 and 2012, he played in 191 regular-season games, starting in all of them. Backus was also a remarkably durable player, never missing a game due to an injury in his entire career. After the 2012 season, Backus announced his retirement from the NFL, capping off a remarkable career as one of the most reliable offensive tackles in the game.
Off the field, Backus was known for his philanthropic work and his passion for giving back to the community. He spent much of his career supporting various charitable organizations, including the United Way and the Detroit Lions' Play 60 program, which encouraged young people to engage in physical activity for at least an hour a day. Backus's commitment to his community, combined with his numerous accolades and achievements over the years, makes him an outstanding figure in the world of American football, and a great inspiration to young players everywhere.
