Jesse Palmer was born on October 5, 1978, in Toronto, Canada. He is a former professional American football player who played as a quarterback in the National Football League (NFL) from 2001 to 2005. Palmer attended the University of Florida, where he played for the Gators football team from 1997 to 2000, participating in three Southeastern Conference Championship teams and winning the SEC Championship Game Most Valuable Player award in 2000.
In the 2001 NFL Draft, the New York Giants drafted Palmer in the fourth round as their third-string quarterback. During his time with the Giants, Palmer saw limited playing time, appearing in five games and completing 54 of 100 passes for 562 yards, 3 touchdowns, and 4 interceptions. He later went on to play for the San Francisco 49ers, which was a brief stint for him before officially retiring from the sport in 2006.
After his retirement from the NFL, Jesse Palmer transitioned into a career in broadcasting as a sports commentator and analyst. He first served as an analyst for Canadian Football League (CFL) games and later for ESPN and the SEC Network, where he co-hosted College GameDay and SEC Nation, respectively. Palmer's success as a football player has been matched by his accomplishments in broadcasting, cementing him as one of the most prominent voices in college football coverage.
