Jim Arnold Autographs

Jim Arnold is a former American football punter who played in the National Football League for 13 seasons. He was born on April 6, 1961, in Savannah, Tennessee, and was regarded as one of the best punters of his era. Arnold played his college football at the University of Vanderbilt, where he was a two-time All-SEC selection.
Arnold's professional career began in 1983 when he was drafted in the eighth round by the Kansas City Chiefs. He spent two seasons with the Chiefs, then moved on to play for the Detroit Lions (1985-1993), where he had his most successful years. Arnold was a two-time Pro Bowl selection in 1988 and 1989 and was named First-Team All-Pro in 1988. He led the NFL in punts twice, in 1987 and 1989. In his career, Arnold averaged 41.4 yards per punt and had 426 punts inside the 20-yard line.
After retiring from football, Arnold went into coaching, first as a high school coach, then as a special teams coach at Cumberland University, Trevecca Nazarene University, and later as the special teams coach for the New York Jets. Arnold passed away on April 7, 2018, at the age of 57, but his legacy as one of the greatest punters in NFL history still lives on through his record-breaking performances and lasting impact on the game.
