Jim Mandich Autographs

Jim Mandich was an American football player and sportscaster, born on June 30th, 1948, in Cleveland, Ohio. He started his football career as a tight end at the University of Michigan, where he played for four years and earned an All-Big Ten selection in 1969. Mandich went on to play in the National Football League (NFL) for 8 seasons, from 1970 to 1977, after being drafted by the Miami Dolphins in the 2nd round of the 1970 NFL Draft. During his time with the Dolphins, he played in three Super Bowls and was a part of two championship-winning teams in 1972 and 1973.
After retiring from playing football, Mandich transitioned into sportscasting, working as a color commentator and analyst for NFL and college football games. He started as a radio analyst for the Miami Dolphins in 1983 and worked his way up to being the team’s color commentator on television broadcasts. Mandich also worked for ESPN, calling games for college football and basketball, as well as contributing to various other programs. In 2001, he was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame and the Miami Dolphins Honor Roll in 2011.
Mandich’s contribution to American Football extended beyond just playing and broadcasting. He also worked as a charitable fundraiser, advocating for cancer research and helping to found the Dolphins Cycling Challenge in 2010, which raised millions of dollars for the University of Miami Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center. Mandich passed away on April 26th, 2011, at the age of 62, after a battle with bile duct cancer. He was remembered as a beloved member of the football community and a passionate advocate for philanthropy.
