Jim Otis Autographs
Jim Otis was an American football player who played professionally for nine seasons. Born on April 29, 1948 in Celina, Ohio, Jim played college football for Ohio State University where he became a two-time All-American running back. He was drafted by the New Orleans Saints in the fifth round of the 1970 NFL draft but decided to sign with the Kansas City Chiefs instead.
Jim's professional football career spanned from 1970 to 1978, playing for the Kansas City Chiefs, St. Louis Cardinals, and the Green Bay Packers. He was a steady workhorse running back and known for his physical style of play. In 1972, he was named to the Pro Bowl and was a key player for his team in the 1975 playoffs, where the Cardinals made it to the NFC Championship game. Jim retired from football after the 1978 season and finished his career with over 4,300 rushing yards and 28 touchdowns.
Jim Otis will always be remembered by his fans and opponents as a tough and reliable running back who played the game with determination and passion. His contribution to the sport of American football and his achievements at the college and professional level have earned him a spot in Ohio State Athletics Hall of Fame, as well as a place in many Cardinals’ fans' hearts.
