Jim Parker Autographs
Jim Parker is one of the greatest football players in NFL history. Born on April 3, 1934, in Maumee, Ohio, he grew up playing football and became a standout at Ohio State University. Parker was a two-way tackle in college, and in 1957, he was drafted by the Baltimore Colts as a first-round pick, eighth overall.
Parker played 11 seasons with the Baltimore Colts from 1957 to 1967, during which he appeared in eight Pro Bowls and was named first-team All-Pro eight times. The 6’3,” 270-pound offensive tackle was a brick wall for the Colts, helping them to win the 1958 and 1959 NFL championships. Parker was known for his formidable blocking skills, which helped to pave the way for the Colt’s star quarterbacks, Johnny Unitas and Earl Morrall. He played in 128 consecutive games, and in his final season, 1967, he was named the NFL’s Lineman of the Year.
Parker retired from football in 1967 and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1973. Throughout his career, he was widely regarded as one of the best offensive linemen in the history of the game. Jim Parker passed away on July 18, 2005, at the age of 71. His legacy in football has endured and he was named to the NFL's 100th Anniversary All-Time Team in 2019 as one of the top 14 offensive tackles in league history.
