Born on October 9, 1965, in Clarksburg, West Virginia, Jimbo showed an affinity for football from a young age. He attended Salem College, where he played quarterback for the football team. In 2010, after head coach Bobby Bowden retired, Jimbo Fisher was named as his successor. Under Fisher's leadership, the Florida State Seminoles enjoyed tremendous success, including three conference championships and a national championship win in 2013. Fisher was also a two-time ACC Coach of the Year and coached several top NFL draft picks. In 2017, Fisher left Florida State to become the head coach at Texas A&M University.
