Jimmie Giles is a retired American football player who played as a tight end in the National Football League (NFL) from 1978 to 1989. Giles was born on November 8, 1954, in Natchez, Mississippi. Giles was selected in the third round of the 1977 NFL Draft by the Houston Oilers. He played for the Oilers for one season before being traded to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 1978, where he spent most of his NFL career. Giles was a star player for the Buccaneers, earning four Pro Bowl and two All-Pro selections during his eight seasons with the team. He was known for his exceptional speed and athleticism for a tight end, as well as his ability to make acrobatic catches.

Giles also played for the Detroit Lions and the Philadelphia Eagles in the later years of his NFL career. He retired in 1989 after playing 193 games in the league, during which he caught 368 passes for 6,307 yards and 41 touchdowns. Giles was inducted into the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Ring of Honor in 2011, recognizing his contributions to the team during his tenure.
