Jo-Jo Moore Autograph

Jo-Jo Moore was a professional American football player, who was born on November 8, 1908, in Gadsden, Alabama. He played as a wide receiver, kick returner and punter in the National Football League (NFL) for nine seasons, from 1930 to 1938. Moore started his professional football career with the New York Giants when he was signed as a free agent in 1930. He played a significant role in the Giants' 1934 NFL championship win, scoring two touchdowns in the championship game against the Chicago Bears. More about Jo-Jo Moore

Moore was known for his extraordinary speed and agility, which made him a top-rated wide receiver during his time in the NFL. He was also an excellent kick returner and punter, and he never missed a game during his career with the Giants. In 1936, Moore led the NFL with 11 touchdown receptions, and he finished his career with 36 touchdown catches, 47 total touchdowns, and 5,039 receiving yards.

After his retirement from professional football in 1938, Moore worked as a businessman and served as the director of the Cleveland Browns in the All-America Football Conference (AAFC) from 1947 to 1949. He also coached high school football in Alabama and worked as an athletic director at Troy State University. Jo-Jo Moore passed away on November 1, 2001, in Troy, Alabama, at the age of 92.
