Joe Fortunato was a professional American football linebacker who played in the National Football League (NFL) for 12 seasons. He was born on March 28, 1930, in Brooklyn, New York, and attended Mississippi State University, where he excelled at football. Fortunato spent his entire NFL career with the Chicago Bears, playing from 1955 to 1966. He was a key player in the Bears' defense during the 1950s and 1960s and was known for his physicality and hard-hitting style of play. He was selected to the Pro Bowl five times (1958, 1960-62, 1964) and was named All-Pro three times (1958, 1962, 1963).
